MODULE 5: "CREATING & COMMUNICATING ONLINE"

 

This has also been a very creative module: bubbl.us, glogster and prezi.  Wonderful tools for children (and teachers) of all ages to share and display their knowledge in creative and innovative ways. 

A glog is an online poster or web page. Glogs are online posters that enable the user to combine text, pictures, graphics, video and audio to creative an interactive online poster.    Glogster enables students to become knowledge creators!!!
 
I have just been experimenting with glogster and created a page about bagpiping - allowed me to see just how creative my students could be with regard to their own learning. As usual, I will have to work on this and focus on further applications.
 
Also had fun with Prezi - ideas are infinite! Created a page about the book "Wonder" in this National Year of Reading!  Like glogster - I found this to be a creative means for student sharing and learning. Just have to embed in in this module reflection!

MODULE 4

Very interesting module!  The students in my school are using all of these tools in a variety of ways that are fun, educational and creative.  Garage Band has been used to create a variety of booktrailers and book reviews for the National Year of Reading! Some classes have been using digital storytelling for quite some time now and the students are becoming prolific users.  Once again, having some time during the Christmas break will allow me to go back over the modules in much more detail and to discover greater and more improved uses for this world at our fingertips!!!

MODULE 3

Using Google Docs has been great! However, I think I have only touched the surface and I am looking forward to really becoming creative in my use of this application both in the Library and with regard to Music lessons.  The students in Stage 3 are regular users of Google Docs and they are often creating and sharing. At the moment they are busy creating scripts for their final assembly.  The ideas are flying from one mac to another all around the Library!!! I think over the Christmas break I will spend more time going through all the activities and watching the youtube clips to really absorb the information and make more practical and creative use of all the web 2 tools!
